Stars of Tomorrow 2012
Part 4

4. Oliver Rowland

Where is he from?

Oliver Rowland was born in England on 10 August 1992.

Career History

2010: Formula Renault 2.0 UK Winter Cup, one win, 7th
2011: Formula Renault 2.0 UK Championship, four wins, 2nd.

His current career statistics are: 32 starts. nine wins, three pole positions, seven fastest laps.

My Prediction for the Future

Oliver has a huge future mapped out for him. He is the New Lewis Hamilton, picked up by McLaren at a young age and developed through karting and into car racing. He started winning as soon as he got into a car and that continued during his first full season.
He recently won the McLaren Autosport Young driver of the year award which earns him a future test drive with the Formula One team, an impressive outing there could lead to bigger and better things for him.
He is likely to move up to British Formula Three for 2012, where I expect his winning ways to continue, then if he finishes high enough in the championship he could jump straight to World Series by Renault in 2013, and with McLaren reserve Oliver Turvey now reaching thirty, a vacancy could open up for him in the new year or two. Once he has the McLaren reserve job he could be placed with a team for 2014 or 2015, just about the time Jenson Buttons new contact will expire opening up a race seat.

2011: Formula Three Euro Series, 6th
2011: Masters of Formula Three, Winner with Fastest Lap.

His current career statistics are: 109 starts. 27 wins, 16 pole positions, 19 fastest laps.

My Prediction for the Future

Felix will remain in Euro Series Formula Three in 2012, with the Mucke Motorsport team he raced with in 2011.
As he finished sixth in his rookie season last year he will start as on of the championship favourites, where more wins and a championship challenge will set him up for the step in to GP2 in 2013 and 2014 looking ahead to Formula One in 2015 and beyond
