Switzerland is making more moves to lift a half-century ban on Formula One.
This publication reported in February that the Swiss Traffic Commission supported a motion to remove the 1955 ban on all competitive track-action.
On Wednesday, the House of Representatives will consider the motion.
It is being promoted by Swiss People's Party MP Ulrich Giezendanner.
The horror Le Mans shunt of the early 1950s inspired the Swiss ban when 80 spectators were killed - but 'things have changed,' said Adriano Cimarosti.
'Automobil Revue' magazine's editor added race safety is now 'guaranteed.'
If the ban is lifted, a F1-style track may be built - possibly at a disused military airfield near Interlaken - but the idea is already striking opposition.
