(GMM) Colin Kolles has denied that a row with Trevor Carlin caused the sporting director to quit Jordan.
Midland's managing director said Carlin phoned him on Monday morning to tell him the news.
''The stress is too much for him,'' Kolles revealed, ''doing the 90 minute drive back and forth from Surrey to Silverstone, and all over the world.''
Carlin is also heavily involved in the A1 Grand Prix project.
''We never argued, never,'' Kolles insisted. ''He wasn't sacked, he is still a consultant. He said he is never at home. I could see at Nurburgring he was not happy.''
Colin Kolles also denied that the reported 'sale' of Jordan, mere months after Alex Shnaider took Eddie Jordan's reigns, played a part.
''The team is not for sale,'' he insisted. ''The rumours started when a sponsor asked about having some team shares.''
