(GMM) Eddie Jordan says he would consider returning to a lower-cost style of formula one.
The Irishman, who sold his increasingly uncompetitive team to Midland's Alex Shnaider more than a year ago, aimed fire at the sport's carmaker-contingent, blaming them for pricing smaller teams out of speed.
''If the lunatics can be controlled I would have every reason to come back and look at F1,'' Jordan, 57, told the tabloid Daily Express.
'EJ' told the newspaper that had he kept Jordan running in 2005, he would have run out of money and gone out of business.
He said the carmakers have 'no regard' for the private teams and have 'totally abused' the sport with their money.
Jordan also called them 'greedy and selfish' for holding the sport to ransom in the so-called 'breakaway' threat.
And he said: ''I am aggrieved that no young person can afford to get in as I did. I say 'Guys, get real and be responsible'.''
