F1 testing resumes at Paul Ricard
Rain stops play on day one

With a two week break before the Australian Grand Prix, several teams have taken the opportunity to attend a three-day test at Paul Ricard in France.

The session officially began this morning with Gary Paffet and Pedro de la Rosa in attendance for McLaren-Mercedes, but wet weather has put paid to any running this morning.

Nick Heidfeld, for BMW-Sauber, will join the running tomorrow (Wednesday), as will Heikki Kovalainen for current championship leaders Renault, and Toyota with Ralf Schumacher and Ricardo Zonta.

Toyota, in particular, will be looking for an improvement in the weather in order to put in some serious running, although with testing now limited by agreement to 36 days, persistent rain may preclude any track action.

UpdateF1 will report later today.
