May 25 (GMM) BMW-Sauber's Nick Heidfeld has denied that technical trouble prevented him from setting a single lap time at Monaco on Thursday morning.
The German told 'Premiere' in Monte Carlo that he was simply 'preserving tyres'.
Heidfeld added that he did not know what had gone wrong with the third car of Robert Kubica.
He said: ''We only know that it is a technical problem.''
