Michelin to dominate Monaco?
French runners remain cautious

May 27 (GMM) Going by Thursday's form, Michelin runners are going to dominate the 2006 grand prix of Monaco.

''I think it is clearly the better of the two tyres,'' said McLaren's Ron Dennis, whose team - alongside Renault - looked particularly quick on the opening day.

However, there is a growing feeling that Bridgestone-shod cars - like the seemingly sluggish Ferrari of Michael Schumacher - could find the loud pedal once the slippery street circuit is worn in.

''As it stands, the Michelin tyre is better,'' Bridgestone-clad Williams' Thursday-only driver Alex Wurz told the 'Kurier'.

''But as more and more rubber goes down, the Bridgestones will go better.''

Wurz continued: ''In the grand prix I can imagine a quite balanced picture, but for qualifying ... perhaps Michelin will still have their advantage.''
