Jul.5 (GMM) Bridgestone has been selected to be F1's sole tyre supplier from 2008, the World Council said after a Paris meeting on Wednesday morning.
The Japanese marque, already supplier to several teams including Ferrari, is therefore to get a trial run for its three-year duties in 2007, after Michelin pulls out of formula one in protest of the rule.
The Council also decided that Microsoft has won the tender to become 'official ECU supplier' for the same period.
A statement also read: ''Due to a significant increase in cornering speeds ... this season, the World Motor Sport Council agreed to consult with the ... Technical Working Group regarding possible measures to slow the cars.''
