Nick Hedfeld was forced to retire from his home Grand Prix following a break failure on him BMW Sauber car.
Barrichello had just pitted for fuel before having to retire with the rear of his Honda in flames. The McLaren of Kimi Raikkonen appears to have also developed a gremlin as the McLaren is not lapping at anywhere near the pace it was showing in Qualifying and at the start of today’s race having had the remaining Honda of Jenson Button pass him after the Englishman’s 2nd stop. So far the only remaining top runner to not stop is Mark Webber.
The Ferrari’s have been in and out of the pits yet still maintain a 20 second lead over 3rd place man Webber.
