(GMM) Jacques Villeneuve's manager says the French Canadian veteran will not return to formula one.
Following the 35-year-old former champion's departure from BMW-Sauber after Hockenheim, Craig Pollock confirmed that Villeneuve - who similarly left BAR-Honda at the end of 2003 but is now linked with a NASCAR switch - is definitely now finished with the series.
''I don't think he is unduly disappointed,'' Pollock told Autosport magazine this week, ''I think he was just ready.''
He also denied that a 'headache' caused by Villeneuve's shunt during the German grand prix was the reason behind his subsequent absence, and replacement by young 'Friday' test driver Robert Kubica, in Hungary.
Pollock explained: ''It was a big accident, but he has had bigger.
''He never said he was not available.''
