Paddock news from Monza
Spyker deal on the cards

Sep.9 (GMM) Honda's Otmar Szafnauer has played down rumours that he is being lined up to replace team principal Nick Fry for 2007.

''It's flattering,'' the Romanian told pay-TV broadcaster Premiere, ''but our team principal is not being replaced.''

The completed sale of Midland to a Dutch consortium for about $100 million could be announced as soon as Saturday morning, according to sources in the Monza paddock.

It is suggested that the Silverstone based squad will try to change the name immediately to 'Spyker', but FIA regulations may forbid it.
