Oct.4 (GMM) Two famous motor racing names will unite in next year's GP2 championship.
Piquet Sports, the team run by triple world champion Nelson Piquet originally for his namesake and son, is to merge with Minardi, the former formula one racing team founded by Gian Carlo Minardi back in 1979.
The Minardi GP2 team, although the squad's exact name was not clarified, will be moved to Veggiano, after former Minardi owner Paul Stoddart sold the formula one factory at Faenza to Red Bull.
Minardi competed in F1's feeder category, then called formula two, between 1980 and 1984.
