Oct.25 (GMM) Ferrari's Felipe Massa has warned his incoming teammate for 2007, Kimi Raikkonen, to not expect to be treated like Michael Schumacher.
After receiving the highest sporting medal from Brazilian president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva on Tuesday, 25-year-old Massa vowed to no longer 'lift the throttle' for the occupant of the other red car.
"I have done a good job this year and am on the same level as Raikkonen," Italian sports daily La Gazzetta dello Sport quoted Massa as saying.
On Sunday, he became the first Brazilian since Ayrton Senna in 1993 to win his home race.
Massa said: "I am not going to let Kimi pass me. My first season at Ferrari has been an apprenticeship and I was the second driver. Everyone said that I would only last one year, but things have changed."
