Formula One screams back to life tomorrow (Tuesday) at Barcelona as the first full test of the ‘new era’ gets underway.
Among the changes will be the use by all teams of Bridgestone tyres following the withdrawal of Michelin at the end of the 2006 season.
Renault will be among the first on track at the Catalunya Circuit, with new race driver Heikki Kovalainen and incoming test driver Nelson Piquet Junior taking the wheel, as will Mclaren-Mercedes with whom new signing Lewis Hamilton will make his first on-track appearance as a member of the team.
With Kimi Raikkonen, like McLaren new-boy Fernando Alonso, out of action until the new year Ferrari will have test drivers Luca Badoer and Marc Gene at Barcelona, while Honda will be present but without the injured Jenson Button. It is expected that new Honda test driver Christian Klien will make his first appearance for the team.
Mark Webber will run for new team Red Bull along with test driver Michael Ammermuller, as yet still with Ferrari engines, and Super Aguri will be present with new signing Anthony Davidson and regular driver Takuma Sato.
UpdateSport will keep you informed, on a day to day basis, of developments and events in each days running.
