Dec.11 (GMM) F1's drivers' union, the Grand Prix Drivers' Association, has threatened to boycott tests if circuit safety facilities are not brought up to scratch.
An online report of the German magazine 'Auto Motor und Sport' said that after a meeting at Jerez last Wednesday, it was decided that Valencia and Barcelona would be the target of their next efforts to improve the safety of tests.
An earlier threatened boycott of the pre-Christmas sessions at Jerez was called off after the Spanish venue agreed to make improvements, which were subsequently approved in an inspection led by Toyota doctor Riccardo Ceccarelli.
But referring to Barcelona and Valencia, GPDA chairman Ralf Schumacher is quoted as saying: "We will make the situation clear to them.
"If we drive there, we want to feel safe."
Schumacher described the safety standards at some tests as "a joke".
