Jan.3 (GMM) Teenaged IRL driver Marco Andretti could be lining up for more F1 tests in the future, according to his famous grandfather.
66-year-old Mario Andretti, who won the drivers' title in 1978, told a newspaper that he will fly to Europe at his American grandson's "next test" for the works Honda team.
Marco Andretti, who is not yet twenty, made a solid F1 test debut at Jerez last month, ostensibly as a "reward" for his rookie efforts in America's premiere open wheel category.
Andretti Sr told La Gazzetta dello Sport: "At the next test I'll come along as well -- and in fact I would like to try out a modern F1 car for myself.
"Yes, the cockpits are tighter nowadays, but I haven't become too wide."
Marco Andretti is contracted to stay at his father Michael's IRL team 'Andretti-Green Racing' this year.
