Jan.27 (GMM) Dutchman Robert Doornbos will continue in a test role for the Red Bull team in 2007, it emerged at the Barcelona launch on Friday.
He finished the season for Red Bull last year and openly coveted a role for 2007 at Toro Rosso.
But Austrian squad Red Bull said Doornbos, 25, will instead be its 'test and reserve driver' this year, involving travelling to all the grands prix to be ready to replace David Coulthard or Mark Webber if required.
In a supporting role, Germany's Michael Ammermuller was also confirmed by Red Bull as a second test driver, but neither will drive on the Fridays of race weekends, team bosses said.
