Feb.13 (GMM) The British grand prix is on the verge of signing a new naming sponsor.
After the beer brand Foster's pulled the plug on its global backing of the sport, the Silverstone race is reportedly close to revealing a $11.7m deal with the Spanish bank Santander.
McLaren is also sponsored by the bank.
"Hopefully (this) means that the future of the British grand prix is now ensured for at least a few good years to come," 1992 world champion Nigel Mansell is quoted as telling the newspaper Mail on Sunday.
