Feb.20 (GMM) For the first time in 2007, Robert Doornbos will return to the wheel of a formula one car next week.
The 25-year-old Dutchman, who is set to combine his testing duties this year with a race role in the American Champ Car series, is scheduled to appear for Red Bull Racing at the Bahrain test.
Some of his time at the wheel, however, will be dedicated to promotional filming work.
It is understood that Doornbos is on the verge of a deal for 2007 with Paul Stoddart's new Minardi entry, and he told Formule 1 RaceReport: "It is one hundred per cent certain that I drive Champ Cars this year."
Champ Cars' Forsythe and Rusport teams, however, have reportedly also expressed interest in Doornbos, who contested eleven grands prix in F1 for Red Bull and Minardi.
"I will reveal my plans (for Champ Car) very soon," he promised.
