British Formula Three champion Mike Conway has agreed a deal that will see him test a Honda Formula One car later this year.
The Britain, winner of the Macau Grand Prix last season, will also receive fitness and technical support from the Honda F1 team as part of the deal.
Conway, who will race in the F1 support series GP2 for the Super Nova team this year, said:
"This is a fantastic opportunity to me and I would like to thank the Honda Racing F1 Team for putting their faith in me. I am really excited about becoming a part of the team and taking full advantage of the assistance that Honda can give me with my racing career.”
Gil de Ferran, Honda Sporting Director, also welcomed the news.
"Mike has clearly demonstrated his potential and talent throughout his career in the various junior formulae with a great deal of success.
"His results in the British F3 series last year were particularly impressive. Honda considers the development of emerging motorsport talent to be a key part of our strategy and we look forward to having Mike on board with us and assisting further with his development over the coming months."
A statement from the team went on to say that Conway, 22, “will have the opportunity to steadily integrate himself into the workings of a top formula one team with Honda."
