Mar.26 (GMM) Official confirmation is still lacking but it is now almost certain that the Spanish bank Santander will be the new naming sponsor for the British grand prix later this year.
After the beer brand Foster's pulled the plug on its global backing of the sport, the Silverstone race reportedly penned a $11.7m deal with Santander, which also sponsors McLaren in 2007.
A piece in the latest issue of Woking based McLaren's official magazine Racing Line appears to confirm the news.
The article reads: "Banco Santander is expanding its involvement in formula one with title sponsorship of the British grand prix."
