Heidfeld 'certain' of 2008 contract
Second place man to stay on

Jun.11 (GMM) Nick Heidfeld on Monday seemed even more confident about retaining his seat at the BMW-Sauber team in 2008.

The 30-year-old German continued his impressive season by finishing second to rookie winner Lewis Hamilton in Canada, but he is still yet to get the all-clear from his paymasters about an 'option' on his current contract.

"I am very optimistic and have no doubts about my future," Heidfeld told the newspaper 'Welt'.

"I am certain that I will continue to drive with BMW beyond this year."

Team boss Mario Theissen insists, however, that the Swiss based outfit's lineup for next year will not be confirmed until later in the 2007 season.
