Jun.21 (GMM) India's two motor sport bodies have cast further doubt on whether the country will host a grand prix in 2009.
The Indian Olympic Association said last week that it has bagged a preliminary deal with F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone for a race in Delhi -- despite the lack of confirmed funding or a circuit.
But the Motorsports Association of India (MAI) and the Federation of Motorsports Clubs of India (FMSCI) both expressed scepticism this week.
"The announcement was a bit premature," NDTV quotes MAI president Nazir Hoosein as saying.
FMSCI's president Rajat Mazumbar adds: "The only authorised body that can run motorsports in the country is ours."
