Malaysia extends F1 contract
On the calendar until 2015

Aug.24 (GMM) Malaysia's contract to host an annual grand prix near Kuala Lumpur has been extended until 2015, it was announced on Friday.

The current contract was due to expire in 2010, but was extended for five years beyond that, the Motorsports Commission of Malaysia confirmed.

Chairman Datuk Azman Yahya said the contract was actually signed in July, with Sepang now committed to staging a night race 'at any time upon notification' by Formula One Management, which is led by Bernie Ecclestone.

Sepang boss Datuk Mokhzani Mahathir, however, clarified in a press conference that the circuit had not yet made any decisions about lighting infrastructure for the future.

"FIA has not told us about the specifications for the night race. They have engaged a company, which would be conducting a test in Paul Ricard Circuit in September," he said.
