Dennis responds to Alonso
Comments 'out of context'

Aug.25 (GMM) McLaren boss Ron Dennis on Saturday clarified Fernando Alonso's claim that his contribution to the team has gone unacknowledged.

Reigning world champion Alonso on Friday insisted that he had not noticed "anything given back to me" by his Woking based chiefs despite personally delivering more than half a second of performance to the Mercedes-powered single seater in 2007.

Briton Dennis, however, was reluctant to assign too much of the championship leading team's improvement compared to 2006, when McLaren failed to record a single win, solely to 26-year-old Alonso.

"It is impossible to identify who has contributed what to how fast our racing car goes," he told reporters in Istanbul.

Dennis also had some advice for F1's press when analysing the media briefings given by Alonso.

"Don't hang so much on to one piece of information presented accurately by Fernando, but out of context in the bigger picture," he insisted.
