Today’s final practice session for the Japanese Grand Prix was abandoned with five minutes to run after a series of lengthy delays.
The first delay was right from the start as poor visibility kept the medical helicopter on the ground for the first 15 minutes. After that it was delayed a further 15 minutes for the same reason.
Eventually the session managed to get started with Wurz, Trulli and Rosberg managing to set times, but after five minutes the session was yet again delayed due to poor visibility for the helicopter. From then on more delays were given until with five minutes remaining they decided to abandon the practice session.
This will make today’s qualifying session even more interesting as many teams will have not had the chance to go through final setups for qualifying.
