Brazilian Felipe Massa blew away the competition in second practice for the Bahrain Grand Prix. His fastest time of 1:31.420 was an astounding 0.907 seconds faster than team mate Kimi Raikkonen with 1:32.327.
The McLaren pair of Heikki Kovalainen and Lewis Hamilton were further back with 1:32.752 and 1:32.847 respectively. Lewis Hamilton however has the cause of yellow flags to be shown on track as he managed to oversteer his car into the wall after hitting the rumble strip on the outside of turn 5 and losing the back end. There was extensive damage to most of the suspension on Lewis Hamiton's car and the mechanics will surely have a sleepless night getting it all put back together for Practice 3 tomorrow.
Again it was another dusty and windy session in Bahrain, and many drivers struggled with the low adhesion levels, not just Lewis Hamilton, with Jenson Button, David Coulthard and Nico Rosberg all complaining over radio at various time about the cars and the balance not feeling right. It seems that Ferrari avoided all the balance issues though and blew the competition away today.
