Heikki Kovalainen has been cleared to race in Turkey this weekend following the mandatory medical examination carried out this morning.
The McLaren star featured in a spectacular accident two weeks ago in Spain, in which his car speared headlong into a tyre barrier in the first half of the race.
McLaren have subsequently deduced that a manufacturing error caused a wheel rim to break, leaving the Finn with no control over the car at a high-speed section of the Catalunya circuit.
Kovalainen has claimed that he is fighting fit and ready to go, and has been training intensively since the accident.
