BF3: Round 5 - Snetterton
Double win for Michael Devaney

SNETTERTON

British Formula Three, round five was held at Snetterton, going into the event the championship leaders are, Sergio Perez of T-Sport in the International Class and Andy Meyrick of Carlin in the National Class.

Race one was won by Michael Devaney driving for Team Ultimate, using the Mygale chassis, the first race win for a non Dallara chassis in the series by over four years.

Jaime Alguersuari of Carlin finished second and was joined on the podium by team mate Brendon Hartley.

Oliver Turvey in a third Carlin finished fourth to make it three Carlin’s in the top four. They were followed home by two Fortec’s driven by Sebastian Hohenthal in fifth and Marcus Ericsson in sixth. Ericsson set the fastest lap of the race, and broke the Snetterton lap record for a British Formula Three car.

Nick Tandy was seventh for JTR, Atte Mustonen of Double R eighth, Walter Grubmuller of Hitech ninth and Sam Abay in another Carlin tenth.

In the National Class Jay Bridger of Fluid won finishing eleventh overall, Meyrick was second, the first time this season that he has finished anywhere other than first this season and Steven Guerrero was third for T-Sport

Deveney made it a double win at Snetterton after Hartley spun off the track from the lead on lap five. Hohenthal was second with Alguersuari to complete the podium.

Championship leader Sergio Perez was fourth for T-Sport after his retirement in race one. Turvey was fifth, Atte Mustonen sixth for Double R ahead of Hitech driver Max Chilton in seventh with Ericsson eighth, Walter Grubmuller was ninth for Hitech and National Class winner Stefan Wilson was tenth overall for Fluid.

Bridger was second in the National Class ahead of Guerrero who was third in class.

Alguersuari has now jumped into the lead of the championship with 99 points, just one ahead of Perez who after a bad weekend has 98 and Mustonen is third with 87 points.

In that National Class Meyrick now has 141 points and Bridger has closed the gap to raise his score to 134 with Howell Lloyd in third on 97 points.
