Formula One returns to the tracks today with the first of a three-day test at the Catalunya Circuit in Spain.
Seven teams are running on Thursday in what promises to be a vital test – the French Grand prix is just over a week away – the absentees being STR, Williams and Force India.
The only race drivers on track today are Canadian Grand prix winner Robert Kubica for BMW and Nelson Piquet for Renault. Piquet will be pleased to have time in the car, while BMW have scheduled Nick Heidfeld to run on one of the next two days in order to work on his qualifying problems.
Other runners are Luca Badoer in the Ferrari, Gary Paffet for McLaren, Kumai Kobayashi for Toyota, Sebastien Buemi for Red Bull and Super Aguri refugee Anthony Davidson in the Honda.
