Silverstone hosts a three day Formula One test this week, beginning today and running through until Thursday.
The Northamptonshire circuit – venue for the British Grand Prix in two weeks time – sees all ten teams in attendance, with Force India in particular testing some radical alterations to their car.
The Silverstone based team – F1’s minnows – have a major aerodynamic upgrade for the test, including a Red Bull and Renault style ‘shark fin’, and a new style damper that they hope will find them several tenths of a second.
Driving today are the following – Mark Webber for Red Bull and Heikki Kovalainen for McLaren, Felipe Massa for Ferrari and Robert Kubica for BMW, Nelson Piquet for Renault and Kamui Kobayashi for Toyota, Nico Rosberg for Williams and Jenson Button for Honda, and Sebastian Vettel for STR and Tonio Liuzzi for Force India.
The event has proved very popular, with many thousands of fans expected at the circuit on all three days.
