Hulkenberg and Vietoris win

NORISRING

Round four of the championship was held at Norisring. After three rounds Eduardo Mortara leading the championship for Signature-Plus

The first race was dominated from pole position by ART driver Nico Hulkenberg; he lost he lead to Mika Maki of Mucke but regained it after Maki made a mistake at turn one. From this point Hulkenberg pulled away and when Hulkenberg’s team mate Jules Bianchi eliminated Maki from the race he was able to win by over six seconds from Koudai Tsukakoshi of Manor.

Jean-Karl Vernay finished third for Signature almost eighteen seconds behind Hulkenberg and ahead Edoardo Mortara, his championship leading team mate in fourth place. Jon Lancaster was fifth for ART, Christian Vietoris sixth for Mucke, Robert Wickens seventh for Signature, and Erik Janis eighth for Mucke. Debutant Henkie Waldschmidt was ninth for SG ahead of Renger van der Zande who took the last point for Prema

Vietoris won the restarted race two after climbing from twenty-seventh after qualifying.

In the original start, Mortara got a good start and jumped to fourth but was taken out by Lancaster, blocking the track leaving no option but for the red flag to be thrown.

Tsukakoshi, Waldschmidt, Rodolfo Gonzalez of Carlin and Dani Clos of Prema were unable to take the restart, while Hulkenberg was sent to the back of the grid after stalling at the original start.

He race ended on lap three after he hit the back of the RC car driven by Martin Plowman.

Vietoris won the race coming home ahead of three Signature cars driven by Wickens, Mortara and Vernay, two Prema cars driven by van der Zande and Stefano Coletti who was sixth. Then was then two Manor cars crossing the line next with Kazuya Oshima finishing ahead of Sam Bird. The points were completed by Bianchi and Jens Klingmann of RC

Mortara still leads the championship with forty-two points. Hulkenberg has jumped to second place now with twenty-five points and Vietoris who is third with twenty-three points.
