Double win for Brendon Hartley

THRUXTON

Going into round six of the championship at ???, it was Jamie Alguersuari leading the International Class for Carlin and Andy Meyrick also for Carlin who was leading the National Class.

The first race was won by Brendon Hartley he was able to charge through from fourth at the end of the opening lap to record his second victory in British Motorsport for the Carlin team.

Championship leader Alguersuari failed to score any points after dropping out of the race with a puncture on lap eighteen.

There was a battle over second places between Marcus Ericsson of Fortec and Oliver Turvey of Carlin over second place that allowed Hartley to pull away and win the race by two seconds. Ericsson beat Turvey to the line to take second place while the battle for fourth was also Carlin Vs Fortec. This time Carlin won as driver Sam Abay finished ahead of Fortec driver Sebastian Hohenthal.

Championship contenders Atte Mustonen and Sergio Perez for Double R and T-Sport respectively were sixth and seventh while Nick Tandy of JTR, Michael Devaney of Ultimate and Henry Arundel of Double R rounded out the points.

In the National Class Meyrick took another victory finishing twelfth overall one place ahead of Jay Bridger of Fluid and Steven Guerrero finishing third in the National Class and fifteenth overall for T-Sport

Hartley completed a double victory by taking a-lights-to-flag victory, however in this race he kept his lead from pole. He headed a Carlin 1-2-3 as he was joined on the podium by team mates Turvey and Alguersuari.

Perez was fourth, Devaney was fifth, Hohenthal was sixth, John Martin and Henry Arundel finished seventh and eighth for Double R, Abay ninth and Philip Major took the last point for Fortec.

The National Class was won by Guerrero, Bridger was second and Meyrick third.

In the championship Perez has retaken the lead with 112 points just one ahead of Alguersuari who drops to second with 111 points, and after his two second places Turvey has moved into third place with 103 points.

In the National Class Meyrick leads by nine points leading Bridger by 174 points to 165. Howell Lloyd is third for CF on 105.
