Practice 3: Hamilton comfortably
Glock surprises

Lewis Hamilton reaffirmed his intentions of thrashing the pants off the rest of the field as he continued his ways in free practice. The McLaren driver left everyone in his wake as he set a fastest time of 1:20.228. Felipe Massa in the Ferrari was second fastest, but the session belonged to Tim Glock of Toyota as he set the third fastest time in what was a bit of an upset.

Heikki Kovalainen in the sister McLaren tried his hardest all day to catch Hamilton but was once again shown a clean pair of heals by the British driver. Nelson Piquet showed what confidence can do for a driver as he set the fifth fastest time, comfortably ahead of his notable team mate.

Nick Heidfeld took until the dying minutes to respond for BMW, who look like they are heading backwards ever since that first win in Montreal. The two Toro Rosso's of Sebastien Bourdais and Sebastian Vettel were impressive in seventh and eighth as they outshone their sister Red Bull team. Uncharacteristic however was the performance of Kimi Raikkonen who ended the session six tenths off of his team mate.

Nico Rosberg in the first of the Williams rounded out the top ten while team mate Kazuki Nakajima was 12th. Dual World Champion Fernando Alonso split the pair in the second Renault, however much of the talk might centre on the disappointing form of Red Bull who lie 13th and 16th, David Coulthard ahead of Mark Webber.

Jarno Trulli and Rubens Barrichello sit between the Red Bulls, while Barrichello's sister Honda is in 17th. The second of the BMW's in the control of Robert Kubica was very disappointing in 18th while the Force India's of Giancarlo Fisichella and Adrian Sutil rounded out the field.

With qualifying just around the corner it looks as though Hamilton will run away and hide for this Grand Prix, with Toyota and Renault battling with Ferrari for podium positions. However much can change in race situation. Stay tuned to UpdateF1 for qualifying and the latest news.
