WSR: Round 6 - Nurburgring
Van Der Garde continutes to dominate

Round six of World Series by Renault was held at the Nurburgring in Germany. Giedo Van Der Garde is dominating the championship so far and going into the race the P1 driver has 96 points and leads Julien Jousse the Tech 1 driver who has fifty-five.

Race one was won by Fabio Carbone of Ultimate. He dominated the race pulling away from Fairuz Fauzy of Fortec by the race of three quarters of a second a lap at one point.

Van Der Garde was third for P1, Esteban Guerrieri fourth for Ultimate, Mikhail Aleshin fifth for Carlin, Interwetten driver Salvador Duran sixth, Bertrand Baguette of Draco seventh, Pablo Sanchez of Interwetten eighth, Pippa Mann was ninth for P1 with Claudio Cantelli Junior finishing tenth for RC

After the race Fauzy was disqualfied from his second place after his car failed the post race inspection and Guerrieri was given a twenty-five second penalty for overtaking Duran after illegally cutting a chicane. This penalty moves Guerrieri from fourth to twelfth.

These disqualifications move Fauzy and Guerrieri out of the top ten classifications. They are replaced by Mario Romancini of Epsilon who is now ninth and Siso Cunill of KTR now tenth.

Race two was won by Duran, He got the jump on pole man Van Der Garde off the line and maintained pressure until a botched tyre stop relegated the Dutchman to eighth place and allowed Duran to win unchallenged.

Miguel Molina was second for Prema, Jousse was third to make a very small inroad into Van Der Garde’s huge championship lead.

Alvaro Barba was fourth for Prema, Marco Bonanomi fifth for Comtec, Baguette was sixth, Carbone was seventh, as earlier mentioned Van Der Garde was eighth. Sanchez was ninth and Guerrieri rounding out the top ten.

In the championship Van Der Garde now has 113 points and holds a forty-eight point lead over both Jousse and Duran who are now tied for second place on sixty-five.
