Aug.31 (GMM) F1 chief executive Bernie Ecclestone would not be surprised if Kimi Raikkonen resumed his post at the top of the formula one time sheets before too long.
Albeit criticising the Finn, and his title winning predecessor Fernando Alonso, for "not doing enough" to represent the sport as world champions, the 77-year-old Briton said Raikkonen's current struggle at the wheel of the Ferrari is out of character.
"I mean, he is a super-talented driver, and I just can't believe that the way he's driving at the moment is Kimi," Ecclestone told BBC radio's Sportsweek programme.
"He's always been quicker than Massa. Massa's quick, but (Kimi) shouldn't be that far behind."
Ecclestone disagrees with reports that Raikkonen has fallen out of love with the sport. "I don't know if he's ever been in love with it," he said.
