New F1 TV deal for Asia
Broadcasting rights agreed

Sep.3 (GMM) The formula one broadcast rights in 24 Asian markets, including India, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and South Korea, have been secured with the announcement of a five-year contract renewal on Wednesday between Formula One Management (FOM) and ESPN Star Sports (ESS).

ESPN Star Sports, now with exclusive rights on TV, internet, mobile and radio, has been broadcasting grands prix for 17 years.

"Formula one has enjoyed unprecedented growth in popularity throughout Asia over the last few years and we feel that this comprehensive new agreement with ESS will help continue this trend," said F1 chief executive Bernie Ecclestone.
