Ferrari to the fore at Spa

The opening practice session at a cold and damp Spa Francochamps provided no surprises as Ferrari and Mclare took to the front.

Felipe Massa continued his fine form with a 1:47.284, quicker than team mate Kimi Raikkonen by just over three tenths of a second, with McLaren duo Lewis Hamilton and Heikki Kovalainen a further couple of tenths behind.

Those were the only four drivers under the 1;48 barrier, with Fernando Alonso next, followed closely by Red Bull ‘trio of Mark Webber, Sebastian Vettel and Sebastien Bourdais, with Timo GlockToyota –and the second Renault of nelson Piquet completing the top ten.
