
Charles Pic won race one on home turf at Le Mans to take his second World Series by Renault win of the season.
The Tech 1 driver started third and passed both Miguel Molina of Prema when he made a mistake and then James Walker with a great pass. Molina went on to finish second while Walker retired after suffering a puncture.
Fabio Carbone finished third for Ultimate Signature ahead of team mate Esterban Guerrieri. Marco Bonanomi was fifth for Red Devil Team Comtec, Mikhail Aleshin was sixth for Carlin, Salvador Duran seventh for Interwetten, Aleix Alcaraz eighth for Pons, second in the championship Julien Jousse finished ninth for Tech 1 with Marco Barba tenth for Draco.
Championship leader Giedo Van Der Garde failed to get off the line after his P1 car suffered a clutch problem.
However he bounced back to win race two. He passed pole sitter Guerreri on the opening lap and never looked back.
Carbone was second after putting Van Der Garde under huge pressure throughout the race. Guerrieri eventually finished third ahead of Aleshin fourth, Molina fifth, Pic sixth, Duran seventh, Marco Barba eighth, Walker ninth and Alexandre Marsoin tenth for Epsilon-Euskadi.
