Sep.14 (GMM) McLaren boss Ron Dennis has delivered bad news to this season's pretenders in the F1 feeder series GP2.
The Briton told reporters at Monza, where Giorgio Pantano was crowned Timo Glock's title winning successor ahead of Bruno Senna, that he has not been overly impressed by anyone in the GP2 field in 2008.
"Exceptional talent in GP2 jumps out at you," Dennis, who gave Lewis Hamilton his grand prix debut as reigning GP2 champion last year, said.
"I don't think there's anyone in GP2 that jumps at you as being a phenomenal talent at the moment," he added.
Dennis however said he will keep a close eye on the category next year to see if "some young ones" make a step forwards.
Among the F1 field at Monza on Sunday, the likes of Heikki Kovalainen, Nelson Piquet, Kazuki Nakajima and Nico Rosberg also graduated from GP2.
