Ryan Hunter-Reay is set to drive for Vision Racing in the 2009 IndyCar Series. The 27-year-old American told the to Indianapolis press on Friday. It is reported Vision's owner and IRL boss Tony George stepped in to help the talented youngster find a ride. An official confirmation is due over the weekend.
Hunter-Reay's future was the subject of much speculation over the past few months. The 2008 Watkins Glen GP winner lost his ride at Rahal-Letterman due to a lack of funding. The American tested for HVM at the final pre-season test at Barber Motorsports Park last week, but now found a ride at Vision Racing, the team of IRL owner Tony George.
At present, Hunter-Reay's deal is being finalised and the team is quickly preparing for the first race of the season at St. Petersburg next weekend.
