Rahal claims historic pole
Youngest IndyCar pole winner

Graham Rahal claimed a historic pole position at the first IndyCar race of the season in St. Petersburg. Twenty-year-old Rahal (Newman/Haas/Lanigan) is the youngest ever polesitter in the series. Rahal is joined on the front row by former team-mate Justin Wilson (Dale Coyne).

Andretti-Green's Tony Kanaan and Penske's Ryan Briscoe will start from the second row, while Dario Franchitti (Ganassi) and Will Power (Penske) complete the so-called "fast six".

Series champion Scott Dixon will start from eight.
