Sebastian Vettel lead from start to finish in a wet and wild Chinese Grand Prix to take home a well deserved win and one-two finish for Red Bulls first ever win. Mark Webber had his best ever result as he capitalised on the conditions to leave Brawn GP in third and fourth.
Rain began falling early during the day and it was clear after looking at radars that it was not going to ease at anypoint. Given the amount of rain that had fallen, race director Charlie Whiting decided to start the race under safety car. After five laps of parading around in awful conditions the drivers were let go and instantly some began to suffer the effects of standing water in the final turn.
Vettel powered away at the front with Webber closely following him after Renault decided to pit Alonso early as he was fueled very light. The Red Bull cars were unmatched as battles were happening throughout the field.
The Safety Car was deployed on Lap 19 when Trulli was mounted from behind by Robert Kubica, effectively ending both drivers races. This was not enough to stop Vettel and Webber who continued to power on at the front.
Rain began falling even heavier towards the end of the race as more cars aquaplained off, but Vettel and Webber managed to keep it on the island for the first victory and one-two of Red Bulls Formula One career.
Stay tuned for a more detailed report later...
