First practice at Spa Francorchamps had a very familiar look, not in terms of the running order but rather the weather; the session started on a dry track but quickly the cloud rolled in and the rain came down in typical Ardennes style.
This rendered the session largely irrelevant as teams simply pounded round the circuit collecting data, and while Jarno Trulli stands as fastest man of the session he set his time – like the next nine men – on dry tyres on a dry track.
Second practice follows later on.
