Six drivers have been summoned to the Stewards office following qualifying for the Japanese Grand Prix. We believe they are Fernando Alonso, Rubens Barrichello, Jenson Button, Nick Heidfeld, Adrian Sutil and Robert Kubica, and that the summons relates to possibly not heeding the yellow flags in the wake of Sebastien Buemi’s accident in the second section of qualifying.
While Alonso and Kubica were eliminated from the session after lifting off for the flags the Brawn drivers made improvements to their laps, something that has led Alonso to state that he is expecting penalties and, as a result, a higher starting position for his Renault.
It is to be hoped that the Stewards take note of all the available evidence, as opposed to simply listening to what the drivers claim happened, and we will bring you news of any developments in good time.
