Oct.16 (GMM) Reigning world champion Lewis Hamilton this week visited the grave of his childhood idol Ayrton Senna.
The McLaren driver wanted to visit the Morumbi cemetery, located near the Interlagos circuit, on his previous visits to Sao Paulo in 2007 and 2008, but on both occasions he was in contention for the title.
"I've wanted to do it for the last two years, but I was being followed and all kinds. I wasn't yesterday, at least I don't think I was," he said on Friday.
"It's an awesome place, very simple, just a plaque. For me it was special," the 24-year-old added.
Senna was killed during the 1994 San Marino GP, when Hamilton was just 9.
