Jan.17 (GMM) Paul di Resta has revealed he is now very close to securing a full-time role in formula one.
The 23-year-old Scot, a DTM frontrunner for Mercedes' works team, last month impressed at the wheel of a Force India at the young driver test at Jerez.
Team boss Vijay Mallya had previously said either di Resta or JR Hildebrand would be the reserve driver in 2010, and di Resta was notably quicker than his American rival on every day of the Spanish outing.
"Since the test for sure we have been in talks," di Resta is quoted as saying by the Scotland on Sunday.
"We are in the final stages of finishing off for the programme they have set and hopefully we can build a very long and strong relationship for me to try and race with Force India in the future," he added.
Another DTM Mercedes driver, Gary Paffett, has confirmed that he will remain a McLaren test driver in 2010.
