The impressive early performance of Felipe Massa and the Ferrari F10 continued at Valencia on the second day of testing as the Brazilian set a time early in the day that would not be beaten.
His fastest lap – 1: 11.722 – was ultimately quarter of a second faster than the second best time, a 1:12.056 set by Kamui Kobayashi who continued the promising for that the new Sauber C29 showed yesterday.
Lewis Hamilton made his 2010 track debut this morning in the McLaren MP4-25 and in completing over 100 laps set the third fastest time of the day while Robert Kubica and the Renault R30 showed improvement to finish the day in fourth place, just a fraction behind the McLaren.
Nico Rosberg in the Mercedes W01, Rubens Barrichello and the Williams FW32 and Sebastien Buemi, who today managed a full days testing in the Toro Rosso STR5, completed the field.
Testing continues tomorrow.
