Rubens Barrichello has enjoyed the opening day of a two day test at the Sebring circuit with the KV IndyCar team.
The Brazilian, recently ousted from his F1 seat at Williams to make way for Bruno Senna, was invited to partake of the test by his good friend Tony Kanaan, who drives full time for the team.
Barrichello has made it clear that he is interested in a drive in the series, and the team has professed to be very impressed with him.
Kanaan said that it took Barrichello only 20 laps to get down to the same times as him. In total, Barrichello completed 94 laps on the first day, and will continue driving today (Tuesday).
It is known that Rubens’ wife has asked him not to drive on ovals, but with the series featuring only four such races this year there may be a possibility of him competing in all the road course events. Team boss Jimmy Vasser is believed to be interested in hiring Barrichello.
