Pastor Maldonado in the Williams set the pace on the third day of testing at Barcelona, with a best time of 1:22.391s, a second ahead of the next fastest man Michael Schumacher in the Mercedes W03.
Maldonado set his time on the super soft tyres and we believe the remaining runners did not run this tyre. McLaren, Red Bull and Ferrari continue to take things easy as they get to grips with their new cars, but all of the ‘big three’ are making favourable noises about their 2012 cars.
Testing comes to an end today (Friday) with just four more days running to come at Barcelona next week before the teams head to Australia for the first race of the season in Melbourne on 18th March.
